Background:  
Feargal McCormack has lived in Warrenpoint all his life.  Following completion of his Economics Honours Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Accountancy at The Queen’s University of Belfast, Feargal joined international accountancy firm KPMG in September 1983 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1986.  Following appointment as a Manager in KPMG in 1987, Feargal joined the Industrial Development Board (now Invest NI) as a Principal Officer (one of the youngest in the history of the Northern Ireland Civil Service).  In 1991 Feargal established FPM Chartered Accountants, which has achieved average annual turnover growth of 20% and is now an eleven Partner practice.

Strategic Planning:
  • A recognised expert on business succession planning, Feargal has presented a number of Training Courses on Business Succession and Family Business Succession in Ireland, North and South. Feargal has over 20 years experience helping private and public organisations review, develop and implement strategic planning across a broad range of sectors.  
Business Advisory Services 
  • Over 20 years experience in helping private and public organisations succeed and implement RESULTS FOCUSED OUTPUT IMPLEMENTATION PLANS.  Has had spectacular success as a mentor and coach to some of Ireland’s most successful growth companies.  
Corporate Finance and Turnaround Management 
  • Co-ordinated and led negotiations on a range of company sales and purchases, including Management Buy-Outs and Management Buy-Ins in a variety of sectors.  Led Transaction Support Teams in a range of corporate finance assignments. 
  • Overseen many successful Turnaround Management and Finance and Bank Restructuring assignments.
Audit & Accounts 
  • Lead responsibility for audit assignments ranging from £1m to £30m in turnover in a variety of sectors. 
  • Audit of broad range of charities, clubs and ‘Not for Profit’ Organisations.  
  • Preparation of Sole Trader and Partnership Accounts.
Economic/Financial Appraisals/Evaluations/
Corporate Governance
  • Undertook in excess of 300 Green Book Economic Appraisals.
  • Led Review and Evaluation of major European Programmes and Programme Projects including Interreg, PEACE, LEADER and a range of R&D Programmes.  
  • Lead responsibility for Evaluations, Corporate Governance and Due Diligence assignments in both public and private sectors. 
  • Financial Appraisals of international business assignments undertaken in the UK, RoI, USA, South Korea, Japan and mainland Europe. 
Cross Border Business and Financial Incentives
  • A regular presenter and acknowledged expert on Cross Border Business on the island of Ireland.
  • Wrote first guidelines on Financial Incentives on the island of Ireland (both North and South). 
  • Has had lead responsibilities for over 20 years of projects seeking grant assistance from government agencies.
